Day 7 (cont.) - Driving through Berlin

Despite its tragic and horrible past, Berlin is a very beautiful city.

A line of bricks in the street show where the Berlin Wall once stood.

The WWII Memorial

Note the cross formed by the reflection of the sun's light.

We had sauerkraut, German beer and four kinds of sausages for lunch. And a good-looking waitress.

Thomas took us to a chocolate store. Here is the Brandenburg Gate entirely made out of chocolate.

The Titanic.

The Reichstag.

A one million dollar Bugatti

The synagogue. We weren't allowed to stop in front of it, so we had to view it from a distance.

A massive train station.

A bombed-out church from WWII. It hasn't been restored, because it's left as a reminder. Berliners believe that the history must be told and re-told. To not tell it would leave history open to be repeated.
