Day 6 (cont.) - Christiansborg Palace

We hopped on the bus to Christiansborg Palace, used by Queen Maggie II for state dinners, royal banquets, and presentation of new ambassadors to the queen.

Underneath the palace, there is an exhibit of ruins of the first castle on the site. It was built in 1167 by Absalon as a defense against pirates. It was destroyed in 1369.
