Day 15 (cont.) - Bridges over the Kiel Canal

A number of bridges span the Kiel Canal about 40 meters above the water. The Prinsendam had to lower an antennae so she was only 39.5 meters high. That means we cleared each bridge with less than 2 feet clearance.

This bridge makes a complete circle in the nearby countryside so locomotives can make the grade.

The engineer of this train blew his whistle to say 'hello' in response to the Prinsendam's.

The last bridge before we enter the North Sea.
