Gillian Anderson wins Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress 1997


Amazing and beautiful Gillian Anderson won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Dr. Dana Scully in the X-files at the 49th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony September 14, 1997.

Dame Helen Mirren presented the award and Gillian told her how much she admired Helen's work.

The X-files was nominated for Best Drama Series Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. 

David Duchovny was nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

James Wong was nominated for Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series.
