Herb Alpert's Rise, a single released from his solo album Rise, reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 October 20, 1979. It remained there for two weeks. It spent one week as #1 on the Adult Contemporary Charts, peaked at #4 on the R&B charts and #17 on the disco charts.
It won a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
