John Hughes wrote and directed his science-fiction fantasy comedy, Weird Science, released August 2, 1985. Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith star as two geeks who create the "perfect woman" Kelly LeBrock. Bill Paxton starred as Mitchell-Smith's older brother.
Although Weird Science got mixed reviews (Siskel and Ebert were split and got into an argument), it is considered a financial success and cult classic.
