Sting released his sixth solo album, Brand New Day, September 24, 1999. It earned Sting two Grammys: Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. I was reading Dune for the nth time when Desert Rose was hitting the charts, and it just seemed to appropo.
I still crank it up!
