Disney Studios released their animated version of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, October 18, 1967. It was the last movie to be personally supervised by Walt Disney and was the first to be released after his death in 1966.
The song The Bare Necessities was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. The movie was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Recording for Children.
