Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the most prolific and influential composers of all time, was born January 27, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. He composed his first symphony at age 5 and composed more than 600 works during his short life.
Ludwig van Beethoven was influenced by Mozart's work.
Mozart fell ill in September 1791, and his illness worsened, causing him to become bedridden in late November. He died on December 5, 1791.
