Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart born 1756

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the most prolific and influential composers of all time, was born January 27, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria.  He composed his first symphony at age 5 and composed more than 600 works during his short life.

Ludwig van Beethoven was influenced by Mozart's work. 

Mozart fell ill in September 1791, and his illness worsened, causing him to become bedridden in late November.  He died on December 5, 1791.

Beethoven 9th Symphony premieres 1824

Beethoven premiered his Ninth Symphony on May 7, 1824 in the Theater am Karntnertor in Vienna.  The fact that Beethoven was deaf when he composed one of the greatest pieces of music in the history of the universe is mind-boggling!

Beethoven writes "Für Elise" in 1810

April 27, 1810, Ludwig van Beethoven wrote Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor, more commonly known as "Fur Elise", one of the most popular piano pieces ever written.  The identity of "Elise" is not known for certain but it could have been Therese Malfatti von Rohrenback zu Dezza or Countess Therese von Brunswick.  We probably will never know.
