American author Jack London born 1876
Iconic American author Jack London, born January 12, 1876 in San Francisco, is one of first writers to become famous world-wide and make lots of money writing. He traveled to the Klondike in 1897 with his brother-in-law to join the gold rush. It became the setting for his first successful works.
London died in November 1916 in what has been labeled a suicide but this has been disputed. There are claims he died of natural causes after taking an accidental over-dose of morphine, which he had been taking for pain caused by a host of ailments.
