Edgar Mitchell, born September 17, 1930 in Hereford, Texas, went into space aboard Apollo 14. He became the sixth person to walk on the moon, spending 33 hours exploring the lunar surface with fellow astronaut Alan Shepard.
He passed away in February 2016 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
