"Amadeus" wins 8 Oscars 1985
Amadeus, the 1984 movie about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his rivalry with fellow composer Antonio Salieri, won 8 Academy Awards at the 57th awards ceremony March 25, 1985.
It won Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role for F. Murray Abraham, Best Director for Milos Forman, Best Writng, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium, Best Art Direction-Set Direction, Best Costume Design, Best Sound and Best Makeup.
Tom Hulce, who played Mozart, received a nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role, making Amadeus one of the very few movies to have two actors nominated for Best Actor.
