Elvis Presley hits #1 with "Suspicious Minds" 1969
The week of November 1, 1969, Elvis Presley hit #1 with his release of Suspicious Minds, his first #1 since Good Luck Charm in 1962, and it would be his last before his untimely death.
No one is sure why producer Felton Jarvis put the 15-second fade near the end of the song, as if was ending, but it didn't matter to sales. Suspicious Minds put Elvis back on top.
It achieved platinum status in the United States and Rolling Stone ranked it #91 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
