Evan Peters, born January 20, 1987 in St. Louis, Missouri, got his big break when he was cast in American Horror Story in 2011. His favorite role of mine is X-Man Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff) in the X-Men series. He won accolades as his performance as Jeffrey Dahmer in Monster, for which he won a Golden Globe award.
In another movie in a rash of "radioactivity creates a monstrosity" films, Monster from the Ocean Floor was released into theaters May 21, 1954. It was the first time Roger Corman produced a film. He would go on to produce almost 500 movies over his career. Director Wyott Ordung went on to produce only one more film in 1956.
It's a slow moving film like Monster from Green Hell, with only a few scenes that were intended to be scary. All deaths happen off screen so there is virtually no gore or jump scares. The actors are mostly unknowns. Ordung and Corman each have a role in the movie.
Monster from the Ocean Floor was released to mixed reviews, mostly negative, with a rating of 3.8 on imdb.com.
It isn't a movie to watch for horror or science fiction fans, but it can be enjoyable if you're into the B&W 1950s B-movies.

It was her fifth nomination. She also won an Image Award from NAACP, Critics Choice Award, and a Gold Derby for her work. She was also nominated for her role in Monster for a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award, OFTA Television Award, Women's Image Network Award, International Online Cinema Awards, Black Reel Award, Critics Choice Super Awards, Pena de Prata, Awards Daily Cooler Awards, and Astra Television Awards.
We came to love her when we watched Reno 911! and Clean House, so it is so wonderful to see her win a prestigious award like this.
Reptilicus, Denmark's only foray into the giant monster arena, was released February 20, 1961. Copper miners discover a frozen piece of a prehistoric monster. Of course, scientists studying it inadvertently bringing it back to life. It grows into a giant reptile and wreaks havoc across the Danish countryside, including the Tivoli Gardens! Oh, no!
It was featured in Mystery Science Theater 3000 in 2017.
