"Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" final episode airs 1999

The final episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, What You Leave Behind, aired June 2, 1999.  The show ran for seven seasons starting in 1993.  It won four Primetime Emmys: Outstanding Individual Achievement in Makeup for a Series (1995) for the episode Distant Voices; in 1993, Outstanding Individual Achievement in Main Title Theme Music; Outstanding Individual Achievement in Makeup for a Series for the episode Captive Pursuits; Outstanding Individual Achievement in Special Visual Effects.

Its phenomenal cast included Avery Brooks as Commander Sisko, Nana Visitor as Major Kira, Rene Auberjonois as Odo, Terry Farrell as Jadzia Dax, Cirroc Lofton as Jake, Alexander Siddig as Dr. Bashir, Colm Meaney as Chief O'Brien and Armin Shimerman as Quark.

Michael Dorn joined the cast as Worf in 1995. 

The final episode of "M*A*S*H" airs 1983

The final episode of M*A*S*H aired February 28, 1983.  The series based on the Korean War ran for 11 seasons, 14 Primetime Emmys and 8 Golden Globes.  Alan Alda and Loretta Swit were the only two actors to appear in the first and last episodes.

Dark Shadows final episode 1971

The unapologetically campy Gothic horror series, Dark Shadows, aired its final episode April 2, 1971, after 5 seasons and 1225 episodes.  The saga of the Collins family, trying to escape its ancient curse, dealt with werewolves, withes, warlocks, time travel and, of course, vampires.  Jonathan Frid played the hugely popular Barnabas Collins.  It remains one of the top cult TV shows ever.

Throughout its run it also starred Joan Bennett, and Louis Edmonds (both of whom appeared in all episodes) Alexandra Isle (Victoria Winters) and Kate Jackson. 

"Turnabout Intruder" last episode of Star Trek airs 1969

Turnabout Intruder, the final episode of the original Star Trek series, aired June 3, 1969. It was supposed to have aired March 28 but got preempted because of Dwight D. Eisenhower's death, so it didn't air until June 3.  Nurse Chapel's hair is brown, which has always been blond up to this point.  Lieutenant Uhura does not appear in this episode.

This episode takes place 4 years before the events in Star Trek: The Motion Picture although they were released ten years apart.

Last episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation "All Good Things" airs 1994

On May 23, 1994, the last episode of one of the best shows on television ever aired.  Star Trek: The Next Generation, which had been on for seven seasons ended its run with "All Good Things".  Fortunately, it was the start of the movie run for the cast, who made 4 movies together.

The final episode brought back Lt. Yar and Chief O'Brien who had left the series earlier for different reasons.

They don't make them like they used to.  All good things...

Final Episode of "Monty Python's Flying Circus" airs 1974

The end of an era:  The last episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus aired December 5, 1974.  John Cleese had left the show before the fourth (and last) season, saying the show had become repititious and had run out of ideas.  He did collaborate with the other members and even appeared in one episode in the last season.

TV Guide has ranked it the 5th in the Top 25 Cult Shows Ever! and imdb.com has it ranked as #35 of the Top 250 TV shows.

Graham Chapman passed away in 1989, but the rest are still alive and kicking!
