Donald McMonagle, born May 14, 1952 in Flint, Michigan, is a veteran of three space flights.
His first flight was aboard Discovery (STS-39) as mission specialist in April-May 1991. The mission carried a payload of experiments for the Department of Defense.
His second flight was as pilot on Endeavour (STS-54) in January 1993.
His third and final flight was aboard Atlantis (STS-66) as commander in November 1994.
Jean-Francois Clervoy, born November 19, 1958 in France, is a veteran of three space shuttle flights. He has represented both the European Space Agency and the National Centre for Space Studies (French space agency).
His first mission into space was as mission specialist on Atlantis (STS-66) in November 1994. The mission studied the Antarctic Zone Hole while it was diminishing to study its possible effects on mid-latitudes.
His next flight was aboard Atlantis (STS-84) to the space station Mir in May 1997. He flew with birthday twin and fellow astronaut Eileen Collins.
Clervoy's third and last mission was on Discovery (STS-103) as mission specialist in December 1999. It was a repair mission to the Hubble Space Telescope and the last solo flight of Discovery.
Scott Parazynski, born July 28, 1961 in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a veteran of five space shuttle missions and seven spacewalks.
His first mission was aboard Atlantis (STS-66) as mission specialist in November 1994. It was the last solo flight for Atlantis until 2009. Until then, her missions were either to Mir or the International Space Station.
His second mission was aboard Atlantis (STS-86) as mission specialist to Mir September-October 1997. He performed an EVA with fellow astronaut Vladimir Titov (Roscosmos) which lasted about 5 hours.
Parazynski's third flight was aboard Discovery (STS-95) as mission specialist in October-November 1998. John Glenn made history by going into space at 77 years old on this trip.
His fourth flight was aboard Endeavour (STS-100) as mission specialist April-May 2001 to the International Space Station. Parazynski performed two EVAs with fellow astronaut Chris Hadfield for a total of almost 15 hours.
Scott's fifth and final flight was on Discovery (STS-120) as mission specialist October-November 2007. He conducted four EVAs, three with Douglas Wheelock, and one with Daniel Tani, for a total of 27 hours and 14 minutes.
Ellen Ochoa, born May 10, 1958 in Los Angeles, California, is a veteran of four space shuttle missions and is the first Hispanic woman in space.
Her first mission, making history, was aboard Discovery (STS-56) as mission specialist in April 1993.
Her second flight was also as mission specialist on Atlantis (STS-66) in November 1994.
Her third mission was back on Discovery (STS-96) as mission specialist in May-June 1999. It was the first space shuttle mission to dock with the International Space Station.
Her fourth and final mission was on Atlantis (STS-110) in April 2002.
After her retirement as astronaut, she became the first Hispanic and second woman to become director of NASA's Johnson Space Center. She is also a concert flautist and has performed with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra at Stanford University. She even played the flute during one of her space shuttle missions!
Joseph Tanner, born January 21, 1950 in Danville, Illinois, is a veteran of four space shuttle flights. His first trip into space was as mission specialist on Atlantis (STS-66) in November 1994.
His second trip was on board Discovery (STS-88) in February 1997 to service the Hubble Space Telescope. He performed two EVAs totaling about 14 hours.
His third flight was on Endeavour (STS-97) in December 2000 to the International Space Station. He and fellow astronaut Carlos Noriega conducted 3 EVAs for about 19 hours.
His fourth and final flight was back on Atlantis (STS-115) in September 2006 to the ISS, during which he performed a 5 hour 26 minute EVA.

Space Shuttle Atlantis (STS-66) blasted off November 3, 1994 from Kennedy Space Center. It was the first flight for astronauts Joseph Tanner, Scott Parazynski, and Jean-Francois Clervoy, astronaut from the National Centre for Space Studies, the French space agency. It was also the second flight for the first Latina in space, Ellen Ochoa.
Clervoy's fellow astronauts nicknamed him "Billy Bob" since they had trouble pronouncing his name.
The crew took advantage of the timing to study the hole in ozone over the Antarctic. For the next 14 years, Atlantis' flights were dedicated to Mir or the International Space Station until the repair mission to the Hubble Telescope in 2009.
Atlantis landed at Edwards Air Force Base November 14.
Dr. Ellen Ochoa is the first Hispanic woman in space, a veteran of four space shuttle mission and currently Director of Johnson Space Center, the first Hispanic woman and second woman to be director.
She made history on her first space shuttle mission (STS-56) on Discovery in April 1993, when she was a mission specialist. Her second flight was on Atlantis (STS-66) in November 1994. Her third trip into space was on Discovery again (STS-96) in May-June 1999. Her final voyage (STS-110) was on Atlantis in April 2002.
She is in the 2017 class to be inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. And she's a classical flautist!
