ZZ Top's eighth album Eliminator achieved Diamond status August 7, 1983, selling 10,000,000 copies. It was released in March 1983 and is considered their most popular release. Rolling Stone listed it on its 500 Great Albums of All Time and 39th in the 100 Greatest Album of of the 1980's. Eliminator went Diamond in Canada, and multiple platinum Australia, France, and the United Kingdom.
Moon, released July 9, 2009, is a sleeper movie that has won numerous awards for its star Sam Rockwell and its director Duncan Jones. It was co-produced by Sting's wife, Trudie Styler.

Simon and Garfunkel released Bridge Over Troubled Water, their fifth and final album January 26, 1970. The single of the same name was released just a few days prior.

It has been certified 8 x platinum. Rolling Stone ranked the album No. 51 on the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and the single as No. 48 on the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
The Boxer, another single from the album released in March 1969, was another success, reaching #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Rolling Stone ranked it No. 106 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
Elvis Presley released his eighteenth and last #1 hit, Suspicious Minds, August 26, 1969. It was a cover of a song written and recorded by Mark James. It would reach #1 in November. When James' recording failed commercially, Elvis covered it. It revived Elvis' chart success and is ranked by Rolling Stone as No. 91 on the list of 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
The Queen of country music, Patsy Cline released her first #1 hit I Fall to Pieces, January 30, 1961. It was mainly ignored by radio stations at first, but soon found an audience. It entered the Billboard Country charts in April and made a slow rise to #1, to #12 on the Billboard Pop chart and #6 on the Billboard Easy Listening chart. Cline proved that a female could have cross-over hits on both charts.
The success of I Fall to Pieces gained Cline an invitation to join the Grand Ol' Opry. Rolling Stone magazine ranked it #238 of the top 500 Songs of All Time. RIAA ranked it as 107 on the list of Songs of the Century.
Rock Around the Clock, recorded and released by Bill Haley & His Comets, was released in May 1954 as the B-side to Thirteen Women (and Only One Man in Town). Remember that classic hit? No? Neither do I.
Rock Around the Clock was considered a commercial disappointment until 1955, when it was used for the opening credits of the movie, Blackboard Jungle. The rest is history.
