"Godzilla vs Biollante" released 1989

Godzilla vs Biollante, the seventeenth movie in the G-Man's franchise, was released in Japan December 16, 1989.  In this entry, Godzilla has to battle a mutated rosebush, which has been modified by an infusion of Godzilla's cells. 

In 2014, Godzilla vs Biollante was voted the best Godzilla film by a panel of fans and judges, although it did poorly at the box office.  Megumi Odaka reprises her role as telepath Miki Saegusa. 

"Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla" released 1993

The twentieth film in the colossal Godzilla franchise, Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2, was released December 11, 1993 in Japan. It featured actors from previous films, although only Megumi Odaka appeared in her recurring role as telepath Miki Saegusa.  Handsome Masahiro Takashimi, Akira Nakao, Koichi Ueda and Kenji Sahara have all appeared several Godzilla films. 

Kenpachiro Satsuma played the G-Man as he had during the Heisei-era and before.  Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2 was nominated for a Japanese Academy Award for Best Sound.

Happy birthday, Megumi Odaka!

Cute and adorable Megumi Odaka, born May 9, 1972 in Japan, will always be known best as Miki Saegusa, the telepath in Godzilla movies.  She became the first actor/actress to portray the same character in more than one Godzilla film and she has the most recurring role in the franchise.
