Space Shuttle Endeavour (STS-99), launched February 11, 2000, was the last solo flight of the Endeavour, since the rest of her flights were devoted to the International Space Station.  Its crew consisted of Commander Kevin Kregel, Pilot Dominic Pudwill Gorie, Gerhard Thiele (ESA), Janet Kavandi, Janice Voss, Mamoru Mohri (NASDA).

They returned to Earth February 22.

Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-91), launched June 2, 1998, was the final mission to the space station Mir.  Its crew consisted of Commander Charles Precourt, Pilot Dominic Gorie, Franklin Chang-Diaz, Wendy Lawrence, Janet Kavandi and Valery Ryumin (Roscosmos).

Andrew Thomas joined the crew of Discovery, after he had spent 130 days on Mir.  They returned to Earth June 12.

Atlantis (STS-104) launched 2001

The Space Shuttle Atlantis (STS-104), launched July 12, 2001, was a installation and repair mission to the International Space Station.  Its crew consisted of Commander Steven Lindsey, Pilot Charles Hobaugh, Michael Gernhardt, Janet Kavandi, and James Reilly.

The mission installed the Quest airlock, which is the primary entrance and egress for spacewalks.  Gernhardt and Reilly performed three EVAs lasting over 16 hours total. 

They returned to Earth July 22.

Happy birthday, Janet Kavandi, space shuttle astronaut!

Janet Lynn Kavandi, born July 17, 1959 in Carthage, Missouri, is a veteran of three space shuttle missions.  Her first was STS-91 aboard Discovery, the last mission to the space station Mir in June 1998, where she was a mission specialist.  Her second mission was STS-99 on the Endeavor in June 2000.  It was the last solo flight of the Endeavor because the remaining missions were dedicated to the International Space Station.

Her final mission STS-104, was also to the ISS on board the Atlantis in July 2001.
