Soyuz TMA-09M, launched May 28, 2013, carried three astronauts to the International Space Station. Its crew consisted of Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin, Luca Parmitano (ESA), and Karen Nyberg (NASA). They participated in Expedition 36 on the ISS and returned to Earth in November 2013, after 166 days in space.
Cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, born May 24, 1990 in the previous Soviet Union, went into space aboard SpaceX Crew-9 to the International Space Station, as mission specialist in September 2024. He participated in Expedition 72 and planned to spend a month in space, but due to the problems with the spacecraft, his stay was extended.
He spent 171 days in space, returning to Earth in March 2025.
Soyuz TMA-12 crew (L-R): Yi So-Yeon, Sergey Volkov, Oleg Kononenko
Soyuz TMA-12, launched April 8, 2008, carried two crew members and a Korean woman, as a Spaceflight Participant to the International Space Station. The crew consisted of Commander Sergey Volkov, Oleg Kononenko, and Yi So-Yeon (Korean Astronaut Program).
Volkov and Kononenko participated in Expedition 17 and they returned to Earth in October 2008. Richard Garriott, who had arrived on Soyuz TMA-13 eleven days earlier, returned with them.
Yi So-Yeon remained on the ISS for almost eleven days and returned on Soyuz TMA-11.

Astronauts Sunita 'Suni' Williams and Barry Wilmore returned to Earth yesterday, March 18, 2025 after nine months in space. They launched aboard the Boeing Starliner capsule to the International Space Station in June 2024 for an eight-day mission. However, the Starliner's thrusters malfunctioned as it approached the ISS, and NASA determined it was too risky for the crew to return. The spacecraft returned uncrewed on September 7, 2024.
SpaceX Crew-9 launched on September 28, 2024 to the ISS with astronaut Nick Hague and cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov.

SpaceX Crew-10 lifted off successfully from the Kennedy Space Center here at Cape Canaveral tonight, a little after 7pm. Its crew consists of Commander Anne McClain (NASA), Pilot Nichole Ayers (NASA), Takuya Onishi (JAXA), and Kirill Peskov (Roscosos). It is the first flight for Ayers and Peskov, the second for McClain and Takuya Onishi.
They will dock with the International Space Station and participate in Expeditions 72-73, before returning to earth, scheduled for July 2025.
Soyuz MS-23, launched February 24, 2023, was an uncrewed spaceflight to the International Space Station to replace the damaged Soyuz MS-22.
A micro-meteoroid impact resulted in a 0.8 mm hole in the radiator of Soyuz MS-22, and doubts about the safety of the spacecraft. It returned to Earth uncrewed, and Soyuz MS-23 was launched.
Soyuz MS-23 docked with the ISS February 26 and returned to Earth in September 2023, with Sergey Prokopyev, Dmitry Petelin, and Francisco Rubio.
Soyuz TMA-05M, launched July 15, 2012, carried the members of Expedition 32 crew to the International Space Station. Its crew consisted of Commander Yuri Malenchenko, Sunita Williams, and Akihiko Hoshide. The crew participated in Expedition 32 and Expedition 33, before returning to Earth November 19, 2012.
Dmitry Petelin, born July 10, 1983 in the former Soviet Union, went into space aboard Soyuz MS-22 to the International Space Station in September 2022. He participated in Expeditions 67-69, and spent over a year in space. Soyuz MS-22 was damaged when it docked with the ISS. It was finally determined that the spacecraft could not return with a crew.
Soyuz MS-23 launched without a crew in February 2023 and Soyuz MS-22 returned to Earth unmanned in March 2023. Petelin and the rest of the Soyuz MS-22 crew returned to Earth in Soyuz MS-23 in September 2023. A six-month assignment was stretched to over a year.
Sergey Prokopyev, born February 19, 1975 in the former Soviet Union, has been in space twice, spending over 567 days in space.
His first mission was aboard Soyuz MS-09 as commander to the International Space Station in June 2018. He remained on board, participating in Expeditions 56 and 57, before returning to Earth in December 2018.
His second mission was aboard Soyuz MS-22 as commander in September 2022 to the ISS. He participated in Expeditions 67-69, spending a year in space, before returning to Earth in September 2023 aboard Soyuz MS-23.
Soyuz MS-22 crew (Top-Bottom): Dimitry Petelin, Frank Rubio, Sergey Prokopyev
Soyuz MS-23, which launched back in February 2023, returned to Earth safely yesterday with the crew of Soyuz MS-22, which launched September 21, 2022. The crew consisted of Sergey Prokopyev (Commander), Dimitry Petelin, and Francisco Rubio (NASA).
While aboard the International Space Station, they participated in Expeditions 67-69.
Rubio has spent more than 370 days in space, making him the first American to spend more than a full year in space, breaking Mark Vande Hei's record.
Sergey Korsakov, born September 1, 1984 in the former Soviet Union, went into space aboard Soyuz MS-21 as a flight engineer to the International Space Station in March 2022. He participated in Expeditions 66 and 67 while on board. He returned to Earth in September after spending almost 195 days in space.
Cosmonaut Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, born August 23, 1983 in Russia, went into space aboard Soyuz MS-17 as flight engineer to the International Space Station in October 2020. He participated in Expeditions 63 and 64, spending over 184 days in space. He returned to Earth in April 2021.
He is scheduled to return to space on Soyuz MS-28, but no date has been set yet.
Pyotr Dubrov, born January 30, 1978 in Russia, went into space aboard Soyuz MS-18 in April 2021 to the International Space Station. He participated in a long duration missions from Expeditions 64-66. He returned to Earth aboard Soyuz MS-19 in March 2022 with fellow astronaut Mark Vande Hei. He spent over 355 days in space.

Soyuz MS-20, launched December 8, 2021 to the International Space Station, carried one cosmonaut and two Japanese space tourists into space. Its occupants were Commander Alexander Misurkin (Roscosmos), Yusaku Maezawa (art collector), and Yozo Hirano (Maezawa's production assistant).
It is the first flight of the Soyuz program that did not take any crew members for rotation on the ISS, and was dedicated entirely for a commercial flight.
They returned to Earth December 20, after more than 11 days in space.
About noon today, NASA/SpaceX's Commercial Crew Program launched its fifth crew to the International Space Station. Its crew consists of Commander Nicole Mann (NASA), Pilot Josh Cassada (NASA), Anna Kikina (Roscosmos), and Koichi Wakata (JAXA), who is on his fifth spaceflight. They plan to dock with the ISS tomorrow.
They are scheduled to stay in space for approximately six months and return to Earth in March.
Alexander Misurkin, born September 23, 1977 in Russia, has been in space three times. He is a major in the Russian Air Force.
His first trip into space was aboard Soyuz TMA-08M as flight engineer in March 2013, to the International Space Station. He participated in Expeditions 35 and 36, returning to Earth in September, after more than 166 days in space.
His second trip was aboard Soyuz MS-06 as commander in September 2017, to the ISS. He participated in Expeditions 53 and 54, returning to Earth in February 2018, after over 168 days in space.
His third trip was aboard Soyuz MS-20 as commander in December 2021 to the ISS. This time he hosted two space tourists from Japan and only stayed in space just under 12 days.
Misurkin has performed 4 EVAs for a total time of 28 hours and 14 minutes, including setting the record for the longest Russian EVA - 8 hours, 13 minutes.
FEDOR (Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research) was a Russian humanoid robot, planned to be able to carry out rescue operations at the International Space Station. It was launched aboard Soyuz MS-14 on August 22, 2019. The spaceship docked successfully on August 27. IT conducted a set of tests successfully on August 30, and on September 6, it returned to earth in the Soyuz re-entry capsule. Russian scientists concluded that it could not fulfill its mission to replace humans on space walks. The project has been cancelled.
Soyuz TM-32, launched April 28, 2001, carried the crew of ISS EP-1 to the International Space Station. Its crew consisted of Commander Talgat Musabayev and Yuri Baturin. They were joined by space tourist Dennis Tito, an entrepreneur who funded his own trip into space.
Soyuz TM-32 returned to Earth in October 2001 with Viktor Afansayev, Claudie Haignere and Konstantin Kozeyev.
Aleksandr Samokutyayev, born March 13, 1970 in Penza, Russia, has been into space twice.
His first flight was aboard Soyuz TMA-21 as commander to the International Space Station in April 2011. He participated in Expeditions 27 and 28. During Expedition 28, he conducted an EVA with fellow cosmonaut Sergey Volkov for 6 hours 23 minutes. He returned to Earth in September 2011.
His second mission was aboard Soyuz TMA-14M as commander to the International Space Station in September 2014. He participated in Expeditions 41 and 42, during which he conducted a second EVA with fellow cosmonaut Maksim Surayev. He returned to Earth in March 2015.

Its crew consisted of Commander Oleg Kononenko (Roscosmos), Andre Kuipers (ESA), and Donald Pettit (NASA). They returned to Earth July 2012, which marked the end of Expedition 31 and the beginning of Expedition 32.
