One of the best Twilight Zone episodes, The Shelter, aired September 29, 1961. The episode followed a dinner party with a group of friends that is interrupted by a news bulletin that the country is under a nuclear attack. One family has installed a bomb shelter under their house. Their friends helped them build it, but when the crisis occurs, the friends turn against them.
Actor Joseph Bernard, who played Marty Weiss, also appeared in the Star Trek episode Wolf in the Fold. It was kinda gutsy at the time, but that was usual for the Twilight Zone, for its depiction of racism and paranoia.
