Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month: "Coco", Pixar Animation film

Coco, released November 2017, is the first movie with a nine-figure budget ($175M) to feature an all-Latino principal cast.  The film has been praised for its respect for the Mexican culture through music, voice acting and its heart-warming story.  The film is based on the Mexican holiday, Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead).

The story follows Miguel, a twelve-year-old boy who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead, where he has to seek help from his deceased great-great-grandfather to return to his family in the living.

It won two Academy Awards, one for Best Animated Feature and the other for Best Original Song, Remember Me.  It won a Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film.  It won just about every Best Animated Film award out there.

It also received two Grammy nominations.
