A Charlie Brown Christmas won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Children's Program at the 18th Primetime Emmy awards May 22, 1966. Lee Mendelson and Bill Melendez produced the program based on the comic strip by Charles Schulz. Vince Guaraldi composed the music and was nominated for a Grammy in 1978.
