Satoshi Furukawa, born April 4, 1964 in Yokohama City, Japan, is a surgeon and a JAXA astronaut. He went into space aboard Soyuz TMA-02M in June 2011 to the International Space Station. He participated in Expeditions 28 and 29 before returning to Earth in November 2011.
He was an aquanaut during the NEEMO 13 project in the Aquarius underwater laboratory in August 2007.
