We drove to New York City and picked up a friend from Dallas on Dec. 16. After visiting Elizabeth Taylor's jewels, having lunch at Sylvia's in Harlem we drove to the Cloisters, a collection of medieval art and treasures in an ancient abbey on the far northwest corner of Manhattan. It is now a state park.
